Phu Phan Kham is a mountain chain stretching from north to south. Phu Kao, on the other hand, consists of nine mountains. Most of the area is covered with Dipterocarps forests and mixed deciduous/evergreen forests. Apart from natural camping, there are also archaeological evidence of paintings on the cave walls showing lifestyle of people in an ancient civilization, Ban Chiang.
