ROYAL BARGE MUSEUM

The museum features 8 royal barges used only in special royal boat procession ceremonies such as Thot Phra Kathin Ceremony. The ceremony dates back to Ayuthaya Period. These barges with their unique designs and elaborated details are used on particular Royal occasions and formerly served as war-vessels. The most beautiful one is 'SuphanaHong' (Golden Swan) used by the King when he made his Royal river procession for the offering robes to monks in Krathin ceremony.
