WAT SUTHAT & THE GIANT SWING

This beautiful Rattanakosin-styled temple has the largest wihan ( chapel ) in Bangkok. This temple is famous for its excellent murals and collection of gilded Buddha images. The Wihan houses 8 meter high Phra Si Sakayamuni, Thailand's largest surviving Sukhothai period bronze (16th century). The cloister is lined with 156 golden Buddha images. In front of the temple stands the famous Giant Swing used in a royal Bramin ceremony.
