Wat Intharam Temple
( Khlong BangkokYai, Bangkok )

Locally called Wat Bang Yi Ruea Nok, this temple was the place where King Taksin (before King Rama I) performed buddhism practice. The King's ashes are kept here. Gold-and-black lacquerwork on the door panels of the main chapel is a must to see depicting mythical trees called Nari Phon. The tree bears beautiful girls as fruit.
